These Terms govern use of AuthorRank. They include important disclaimers and limits of liability.
Acceptance of terms
By installing, accessing, or using AuthorRank, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
What AuthorRank provides
AuthorRank provides tools that help Shopify merchants manage blog author profiles, storefront author bio display, schema settings, custom expert authors, author reassignment, and optional Search Console reporting. The merchant remains responsible for reviewing, enabling, disabling, publishing, and validating all output.
No SEO guarantee
AuthorRank does not guarantee rankings, traffic, clicks, impressions, rich results, AI Overview visibility, revenue, conversions, indexing, or search engine treatment. Search engines and AI systems use independent algorithms and may change how they interpret content or structured data at any time.
Merchant responsibility
You are responsible for:
- Choosing which author data, schema settings, and theme blocks to enable.
- Checking that author names, bios, credentials, links, and images are accurate and lawful.
- Confirming that schema output does not conflict with your theme, SEO apps, custom code, or other structured data tools.
- Testing storefront rendering on your theme and device breakpoints.
- Keeping backup copies of important theme, article, and author content.
- Complying with laws, platform rules, advertising standards, and professional credential requirements.
Theme and storefront changes
AuthorRank uses Shopify app extensions, metafields, and Shopify APIs to provide its functionality. Themes, apps, custom code, and platform changes can affect storefront behavior. You are responsible for testing AuthorRank in your theme before relying on it in production.
AI-assisted content
AI-assisted bios are draft suggestions only. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, fact-checking, and approving any AI-generated text before publishing it. Do not publish credentials, expertise claims, medical claims, legal claims, financial claims, or regulated statements unless they are accurate and you have the right to use them.
Availability and changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue parts of AuthorRank at any time. We aim to keep the app reliable, but uninterrupted or error-free operation is not guaranteed.
Prohibited use
- Do not use AuthorRank to publish false identities, misleading credentials, unlawful content, or deceptive schema.
- Do not attempt to bypass plan limits, abuse rate limits, scrape the service, or access another merchant's data.
- Do not use AuthorRank in a way that violates Shopify rules, Google policies, or applicable law.
Disclaimer of warranties
AuthorRank is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, search performance, and compatibility with every theme or third-party app.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, AuthorRank and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost revenue, lost traffic, lost clicks, lost rankings, lost data, business interruption, theme issues, storefront issues, or SEO performance changes, even if advised of the possibility of those damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability for any claim related to AuthorRank will not exceed the amount you paid to AuthorRank in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD $100 if no amount was paid.
Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless AuthorRank and its operator from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of the app, your published content, your author claims, your schema choices, your theme changes, or your violation of these Terms.
